I. am. E X H A U S T E D. Like all I want right now is to sit on my couch and watch Netflix for 10 hours. (Actually, I don’t really watch Netflix. At all. What I really want to do is binge-watch House Hunters on HGTV – but I was too embarrassed to admit that…oh well.)
Last night I worked until 12:45AM and today I worked from 1-6PM. For those of you who don’t know, I work at Victoria’s Secret, and I desperately need to invest in a nice pair of flats because my feet are in agony from the heels I’ve been wearing. (If you have any suggestions for inexpensive, black flats that would be great!)
Working in retail is like nothing I’ve ever done before. If there’s one thing I’ve learned so far it’s that the world is a very large place full of very different people. All my life I feel like I’ve kind of been in a bubble to some extent. My grammar school, as well as my high school, were both private, Catholic, and consisted of predominantly white students and teachers. It’s not that I didn’t know people from Brazil and India and China didn’t exist, but rather, that I simply never interacted with them. Working in retail has shown me just how different every human being is. I used to think there were just 2 categories of people: the kind ones and the mean ones. But that’s not the case. There are so many different words to describe people. Happy. Shy. Outgoing. Bubbly. Annoyed. Frustrated. And that’s just to name a few…
I don’t really know where I was going with this…Basically, what I’m trying to say, is that sometimes it’s good to open your eyes to the rest of the world, and what it has to offer.
On a completely different note…
I’m trying to get a nice schedule going for posts on this website. I’m thinking one post for every weekday. I also think it’d be really cool to have specific categories for specific days of the week, but that might be too restraining for me. For now, I might prefer the option of being able to post whatever, whenever. With time, when I get the hang of this whole blogging thing, I can incorporate the posts based on days of the week.
Well, I think that’s all I have to say for now. I’m going to go sleep for 4385473 hours. (:
