I feel like nail polish can tell so much about a person. Right now you are probably thinking, Oh, here goes another generic post about how colors like black and brown represent solemnity and bright pink and lime green represent fun. While that might be true (I’m not even sure that I believe it is), that’s not what I’m talking about. Instead, I would like to divide every woman in the world into 2 categories: those whose nails must be perfect at all times and those whose nails do not.
People bash chipped nails all. the. time. I listen to it on TV, I see it on the Internet, I read about it in magazines, and I even hear about it in conversations with friends.
Oh my god. Chipped nails are the ABSOLUTE WORST!
I cannot stand chipped nails!
Chipped nails are disgusting.
It seems that every single human being on Planet Earth is in agreement that nothing is worse than chipped nail polish. Except me.
Honestly? Chipped nail polish has never bothered me one bit. What has bothered me, admittedly, is when girls’ nails are always perfect. How? How could that possibly be? I don’t know about you, but I am constantly on the go. Between working out, swimming in the ocean/pool, and organizing/cleaning on a daily basis, it would be impossible for my nails not to chip. And the thought of painting my nails every single day makes my head spin. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
So while society deems the group of females who could care less about chipped nails as slobs, messy, or careless, I disagree. I think we are free, fun, and simply just live our lives. Those who are constantly concerned about a little chip of nail polish, in my opinion, aren’t clean, neat, and perfect, but rather, boring, craven, and simply not fun.
** BTW – Obviously this isn’t true about everyone, as it’s impossible to place every female in the world neatly into just 2 categories. **
(For the most part, though, it’s true. lols)
