Yesterday I posted the video of me chopping off and donating my hair, which you can watch here, and the positive response I got was mind-blowing. I can’t thank you all enough! Admittedly, I was kind of hesitant to post the video because I thought every other comment would look like this:
You cut off all your hair?!?!
Omg. You looked so much better with long hair.
Although we try to convince ourselves otherwise, words are quite powerful. There’s no denying it. A compliment can make your day the same way a cruel insult can ruin it. With that being said, however, 99% of the feedback I got was positive, and it really did make me happy.
Now that I’m in college again, I really do miss having long hair. While all my friends are curling and styling their hair with braids and buns and ponytails, I simply pick up a flat iron and straighten the remaining few inches of hair I have. Lol. Admittedly, I was beginning to regret the decision to chop it all off.
The comments on my video, however, reminded me of the greater picture. Of why I did this all in the first place. I wanted to give someone something, and unfortunately, in giving you are losing. In order to give you ultimately have to take something away from yourself. That’s just the way it goes.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for the sweet comments and to also remind you that your words really do have a stronger impact than you realize.
