If I had one wish, I would first wish for 500 more wishes. But if the genie granting me my wish decided to be an asshole and forbade me from getting more wishes, I’d wish for the ability to change my hair from day to day. And no, I don’t mean straight as opposed to curly, or ponytail as opposed to braids. What I mean is that I’d love to be able to have short, blonde hair on Tuesday and then be a brunette with long locks on Wednesday.
Wouldn’t that be amazing?!
I recently posted a video and instagram in which I sported a long, blonde wig. While I definitely don’t think blonde suits me as much as brown does, it was still fun to have such a drastic change in a matter of minutes. It was also fun to go from having short/medium-length hair to long locks.
I’m kind of at a crossroads when it comes to which I prefer: my long or short hair. Within the past year I’ve had both. While last summer my hair fell past my belly button, in August I chopped it all off so that it didn’t even reach my shoulders. I love both looks and I hate both looks.
Pros: I love how different short hair. It’s not the “classic” version of beauty that has been dominating movie screens and magazines for centuries. It’s edgy; it’s unique. Oh, and it also takes about an hour less time to style than long hair!
Cons: It kind of lacks that femininity that long hair has.
In case you haven’t gotten the point from this whole post, I’m trying to decide which I want. Do I want to grow out my hair and go back to Rapunzel-status OR…do I want to keep the short hair (and even go shorter) for a more edgy look? Considering no genie is going to be knocking on my doorstep, granting me wishes any time soon, I guess I’ll have to make a decision…
